  • Members of Interfaith Lake County will be attending our February Rabbi’s Roundtable, taking place at the synagogue this month. The topic for the evening is The Golden Rule: A common theme of world religions. Clergy from Muslim and Christian houses of worship will join Rabbi Allen in an interactive discussion about this thought provoking and universal subject. Members and Guests are invited to attend and participate in the conversation. Refreshments will be served.

  • Join us on Saturday, February 25th at 10:00 am when Rabbi Karen Allen leads our Shabbat Morning service.  Socialize with our members and enjoy refreshments afterwards at the Kiddush.

  • You won't want to miss this special concert at Pennbrooke Fairways on Sunday, March 5th, at 2:30 PM.  Our Rabbi, Karen Allen, is a magnificent professional pianist and singer with a beautiful voice.   She will be joined by Zoriy Zinger, a vioinist who was a soloist in the Russian Symphony Orchestra before moving to this country.  Together they have collaborated for many concerts, theater productions, and celebrations of exceptional diversity.  

    They will enchant us once again with a new musical production entitled 'An International Songbook'.  As the name suggests, they will perform a variety of music from classical to internations songs that have become contemporary standards.

  • This 4 week course will explore how we Jews came to observe various rituals. Sympbols such as the mezuzah, customes associated with death and dying, and practices such as how we pray will be explained.

    To sign up, call Marsha Stemerman at 352-630-9259. One hour classes will begin at the synagogue on Monday, February 27th at 4:00 PM.

    You have the option of attending any number of the classes. No charge for members of Congregation Beth Sholom; $5 per class charge for non-members.
