Congregation Beth Sholom is a diverse and dynamic Rabbi-led congregation that is warm and welcoming.

Our Synagogue serves the needs of the Reform and Conservative Jewish population in central Lake County and the surrounding areas.

We welcome Shabbat with a blend of both modern and traditional customs, allowing all Jews to feel comfortable in our Temple and at our Services.

  • This 4 week course will explain the basic tenets of Judaism and will help you remember the things you may have forgotten from religious school. Various rituals, symbols, and beliefs will be discussed so that you have a better understanding of what Judaism entails and what makes it different from other religions.  To sign up, call Marsha Stemerman at 352-630-9259. One hour classes will begin at the synagogue on Monday, Jan. 12th at 4:00 PM. You have the option of attending any number of the classes.

  • You won't want to miss this phenomenal concert at Pennbrooke Fairways on Sunday, March 15th, at 3:30 PM.  Our Rabbi, Karen Allen, is a magnificent professional pianist and singer with a beautiful voice.   She will be joined by Zoriy Zinger, a vioinist who was a soloist in the Russian Symphony Orchestra before moving to this country.  Together they have collaborated for many concerts, theater productions, and celebrations of exceptional diversity.  

    They will enchant us once again with a new musical production entitled 'More Mozart to the Movies'.  As the name suggests, they will be performing everything from the classical to the contemporary.  

    Tickets are just $18 and must be purchased in advance. Pay with cash or checks made out to Congregation Beth Sholom.

  • Rabbi Karen Allen will lead a guided discussion about the current Torah portions and the impact they have on our lives today. The community is invited to join this enlightening exchange at 1 pm on Thursday, January 22nd, at the Sumter County Administration Building , 7375 Powell Rd. near Pinellas Plaza and 466A in Wildwood. (Look for the building with the gold dome).  This forum is a unique opportunity to talk with the rabbi about things that are important to you in an intimate and informal setting. The location is convenient to the Villages and to Leesburg as it is just north of Brownwood.

  • Join us on Saturday, January 24th at 10:00 a.m. when Rabbi Allen leads our Shabbat Morning service. A light Kiddush will follow the service.
